SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Some of the top bowlers in the country came to Sioux Falls this past weekend for a tournament, but the event featured more than just bowling.

Over the course of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the bowlers participated in numerous events such as a pro-am and a tournament for money. With Eastway Bowl full of specators, there was noticeable buzz around the weekend’s competitions.

“What they’re doing here in South Dakota is awesome,” pro bowler David Krol said. “There’s never been an event like this that I’ve been to personally, and it’s just an awesome time. There’s spectators everywhere.”

The intimacy of the event, put on by J-Mar Entertainment, provided fans an opportunity to develop a deeper appreciation for the nuances of bowling.

“The sport of bowling is a lot more than a lot of people understand,” Kory Rawstern said. “What goes into it is is amazing. So to see it come to Sioux Falls and continue to get bigger and grow.”

The event, helping to grow the game of bowling by fostering relationships between the pros and the spectators with each and every roll.

“To be able to provide these experiences for people who don’t get these opportunities very often, it just means the absolute world and it means the world to be in a position to be able to do that,” J-Mar co-owner Marshall Kent said.

“This will allow spectators get more involved with the tournaments and it could just grow to maybe instead of having two events a month to we’re having 40 events a year,” Krol said.

The weekend also featured a beer garden and inflatables for kids. The organizers of the event said they hope to have another one in Sioux Falls next year.
