SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The Annual Bob Burns Dakota Bowl has been one of the most anticipated high school football games each year, for it’s 45 year history.

This year’s game features Harrisburg and O’Gorman and marks the 46th time the Dakota Bowl is being played.

It will be a two day event with a cheer camp, football camp, and more festivities taking place on Friday, with the game Saturday.

The bowl game brings Sioux Falls together and it keeps a generation of players even more tight knit.

“Now I’m sitting in my classroom, ‘oh, you’re the younger brother of that I had three years ago.’ And we’re seeing the younger brothers, even like Sullivan Schlimgen, his older brother was our state champion quarterback. Just that continuity of families and it’s the families that make the difference and that just makes a cool atmosphere,” O’Gorman head coach Jayson Poppinga said.
