Angola woman accused of kidnapping 5-year-old
ANGOLA, Ind. (WOWO) – An Angola woman is accused of kidnapping a 5-year-old boy Thursday afternoon. Just before 5 p.m., Steuben County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 4700 block of County Road 100 S. in western Pleasant Township on an initial report of a small child that was just taken from a residence. Upon arrival at the residence, deputies quickly gathered preliminary information to broadcast to area law enforcement in an attempt to locate the child.
Steuben County boater loses balance, hits hand on propellor
STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A man from Bryan, Ohio injured his hand Thursday while operating a boat on Jimmerson Lake in northeast Indiana. Indiana Conservation Officers began investigating a report of a boat accident with injuries around 7 p.m., according to a release from the state’s Department of Natural Resources.

Bicyclist injured after being hit by vehicle
DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (WFFT) - A bicyclist was injured when he was hit by a Ford Escape on CR 66 Friday morning. Around 9:10 a.m., police say Leo Sarrazine, 81, of Auburn, was driving his Escape east on CR 66 when he hit a bicyclist, Michael Delauder, 61, of Auburn, who was exiting a driveway in the 1900 block of CR 66.
Driver suffers medical emergency, crashes into five cars
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports on Tuesday, June 25, around 9:21 a.m., 68-year-old Jeff Counterman, of Hudson, Ind., was driving a 2023 Ford F-150 north on S.R. 15 just north of Broadmore Drive when he suffered a medical emergency causing him to fail to maintain his lane.
Ligonier Woman Arrested For Escape, Intimidation
LIGONIER — A Ligonier woman was recently arrested after allegedly escaping from a police officer’s vehicle and threatening two people. Maria Zavala Rostro, 32, 600 N. Cavin St., Ligonier, is charged with escape and intimidation with a deadly weapon, both level 5 felonies; and battery and criminal mischief, both class B misdemeanors.
