The baseball team made the finals for the third time since 2019, and the golf team had its best finish in the Union County Conference Tournament in many years.
Seniors secured their legacies with great performances, and junior varsity players continued to develop their skills.

After winning their first-ever championship in 2022, the girls track team was back for seconds, taking the Union County Conference title. First-place finishes included Samantha Dias in pole vault and 800-meter, and Madison Dias in the 1600-meter. Juliana Ballesteros took first place in the javelin event. At the Dodgertown Relays, the girls took 6th place in the distance medley relay and set a school record.
More school records were set at the Millburn Relays, as the girls team took 3rd place in both the shuttle hurdle relay and two-person discus relay, and at the Union County Relays, with 3rd-place finishes in the three-person shot put and the three-person discus.
The girls also were team champions at the Rebel Relays, placing in 15 of the 17 events they entered.
Mackenzie Pierce took fifth place in shot put in the Union County Championships and placed 10th in the same event in the Meet of Champions Wildcard Qualifier.
Boys Track
The boys celebrated team wins and historic individual achievements this season.
Anthony Flowers ran off with a series of titles, including Union County Conference Champion in high jump, and State Sectional Champion in the 110- meter high hurdles for the second year in a row. Flowers went on to place at the Meet of Champions, where he was 11th overall in the state in high jump and 21st overall in the state in the 110-meter hurdles. Anthony Flowers and Michael Flowers also teamed up for first-place wins in high jump relay at the Millburn Relays and the Dodgertown Relays – which was a back-to-back victory!
The boys team placed 4th overall in Central Jersey Group 1 at the State Sectionals, where Carter Stein finished first in pole vault. Stein took 6th place in pole vault in the Meet of Champions (MOC) Wildcard Qualifier. The MOC qualifier was historic for Tyrese Taylor, who became only the third boy to break the 60-second barrier in more than two decades.
Golf
The varsity golf team experienced a season of improvement. The Bears finished the regular conference season under .500 with four wins and five losses.
But the team bounced back to finish in third place at the Union County Conference Tournament, Valley Division.
The Bears had their best individual tournament finishes in many years, with four golfers in the top 15. Kristian Janeczko came in second place, and Greg Scalise finished fourth.
Softball
The softball team was dominant this season, going 16-12, winning the Union Conference Championship, then proceeding to upset Weehawken, the number 14 team in the state. The Bears beat Weehawken to win a Group 1, North 2 sectional final.
The season also consisted of many exciting individual achievements, including more than 100 career hits for seniors Frankie Licata and Leah Sims, and 166 strikeouts on the season for freshman Gia Pirozzi. All members of the team truly contributed to our success this year.
The players learned the importance of hard work, dedication, and believing in ourselves and each other.
JV Softball
The team played three games this season, including two strong outings in which the team made great plays and had excellent offensive and defensive performances.
The season offered valuable experience in developing communication and teamwork.
Baseball
The team went 17-9, with impressive wins against Woodbridge, Elizabeth, ALJ, New Providence, and Dayton.
Senior Reymundo Gonzalez finished with a .470 batting average and 39 hits, breaking the school record for hits in a single season. Antonio Esposito finished with a .350 batting average, earning a selection to the Union County All-Star team. Sean Budis led the pitching staff with a 1.85 earned run average while striking out 97 batters in 72 innings. The team made yet another deep run into the state tournament, earning its third trip to the finals since 2019.
JV Baseball
Although our season was cut short, every player made great improvements in all aspects of the game.
Players continued to work on fundamentals while also trying out new positions on the diamond. We look forward to returning even stronger next year!
