Mizzou wide receiver Luther Burden III is the Tigers’ only entry on this year’s preseason all-Southeastern Conference team. The conference announced the media’s selections for preseason honors and predicted order of finish at the end of last week’s SEC Media Days in Dallas. Burden picked up first-team honors, following his breakout season last year that saw the St Louis native ninth in the nation in receiving yards with 1,212 yards, and third in the conference with 86 receptions, including nine touchdowns. Burden earned a first-team SEC selection at the end of last season and was a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award.

Cold Case Tuesday – Samuel Nanaeto
The Dallas Department continues to investigate the 2012 murder of 22-year-old Samuel Nanaeto. On September 23, 2012, Mr. Nanaeto and unknown suspect were involved in a fight at a business in the 8500 block of Stemmons Freeway. The investigation determined Mr. Nanaeto left the scene and was involved in another fight, this time in the 8800 block of N. Stemmons Freeway, where he was found shot to death. Further investigation determined a vehicle, a four-door white vehicle, possibly a Chevy Avalanche, driven by a Latin male, was seen at the second location and was possibly involved.

A petition to add a marijuana reform to Dallas' city charter has been certified by the City Secretary. Now, Dallas voters will have the final say. The petition was started by a group called Ground Game Texas. The organization works to “advance social justice while strengthening” democracy, according to its website.
