3 killed in crash on Route 1 bypass in Pennsylvania
UPPER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. (CBS) -- Three people were killed after a small bus rear-ended a truck and caught fire on the Route 1 Media Bypass in Delaware County on Tuesday.The driver of a paratransit bus rear-ended a truck hauling a dumpster. The bus then caught fire, a spokesperson for the Delaware County District Attorney's Office said.The three people killed were all in the bus, the spokesperson added.The driver of the bus was pronounced dead on the scene.Passing drivers tried to pull two people from the wreckage of the bus via the rear door but those victims were also pronounced dead.The driver of the truck was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.The crash was first reported just before 8 a.m.Traffic heading southbound on the bypass was blocked all morning through noon. The lanes have since reopened. This article has been updated to reflect which vehicle struck the other according to police.

Victim Carjacked At Gunpoint While Pumping Gas
The Delaware State Police are investigating a New Castle area Sunoco gas station armed carjacking that occurred last night. Officials said on June 28, 2024, at approximately 10:07 p.m., troopers responded to a report of a carjacking that occurred at the Sunoco located at 285 Christiana Road in New Castle. Upon arriving, troopers learned that the 24-year-old victim was at the gas pumps in a Chevrolet Malibu when he was approached by a masked black male suspect who made unknown demands while threatening the victim with a firearm. The victim complied as the suspect stole the victim’s cell phone and car keys. The suspect then fled northbound on Airport Road in the victim’s car. The victim was not injured.

Firefighter treated for minor injuries after 2-alarm fire at home in New Castle County
A firefighter suffered minor injuries while battling a two-alarm blaze in Wilmington, Delaware, on Tuesday.It happened just after 12:30 p.m. on the 800 block of North Lombard Street.Firefighters were called to the scene for reports of a house fire.
