    Benton County Sheriff's Detectives investigating hit-and-run near Kennewick

    BENTON CO., Wash. -- Benton County Sheriff's Detectives said they are searching for the suspect involved in a hit-and-run.

    BCSO responded to the call for help just before 4 a.m. Thursday morning in the 1600 Block of East 3rd, near Kennewick.

    According to officials, a dark colored sedan hit an 18-year-old while he was walking with his girlfriend.

    Officials said the sedan continued to drive West on 3rd towards State Route 397 after hitting the victim.

    Detective said the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

    According to BCSO, detectives are still working to identify the type of sedan.

    MultiCare Yakima Memorial Hospital stresses importance of preventing heat-related illnesses

    YAKIMA, Wash. — With summer in full swing, health care providers are urging the community to take care of themselves to reduce the likelihood of suffering a heat-related illness or injury from summer recreation.

    NWS Pendleton has issued a Heat Advisory for the Kittitas Valley, Yakima Valley, and Lower Columbia Basin. This runs until 10 PM this evening.
