The last month of summer is here, putting to bed the jam-packed schedules of June and July. In Tri-Cities, summer has consisted of multiple music festivals, the Water Follies, Art in the Park, and ongoing events like Live at Five and Thunder on the Island concerts.

While summer is slowing down, the festivities aren’t stopping. August is full of just as many events across Tri-Cities as the rest of summer. Bars are sticking with their regular trivia nights, open mic nights and karaoke nights, and Moonshot Brewing in Kennewick now has a Pinball League meeting Fridays at 6 p.m.

Seasonal offerings like farmers markets, Dust Devils games and MCBONES tours are continuing as well. The REACH Museum is continuing its anniversary celebrations.

The big event this month is the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo , held at the fairgrounds August 20 through 24. Whether you’re interested in the fair food and rides, the rodeo, the concerts or the exhibits, you’ll have plenty to do this year. Full schedules and details are available online. Admission ranges. from $5 to $60.

Additionally, the month will close out with the 28th annual Tumbleweed Music Festival , a mostly free acoustic music experience. This year, there will be four outdoor stages and two indoor stages, with new performances every 45 minutes, and two workshop rooms. Held over Labor Day weekend, over 100 acts will take to the stage between August 30 and September 1. This year’s headliners are Homebrew String Band, Mike and Carleen McCornack and William Pint and Felicia Dale. More information is available online.
