The July 25 edition of the Kent County News featured three local stories that showed what a true community weekly newspaper can do.

The front page story about the Kent County Fair described the fair's activities, contests and events, featuring the local 4-H members who so proudly showed off their animals and projects; 14 color photos accompanied the story. Inside, the paper covered the visit of Angela Alsobrooks, candidate for U.S. Senate who spent three hours walking around Chestertown talking to people. The third was about a local farm growing native plants and trying new scientific methods on their small farm.

Besides these there were stories about the county high school, a Main Street grant to Rock Hall, art and music events, Crazy Days in Chestertown, Rebuilding Together volunteers in Millington, Chesapeake Bay grade this year, as well as obituaries and regular columns. Keep up the good work. We appreciate our local newspaper.
