    Things to Do

    From colorful arts & crafts to vibrant orchestral music, South King County does not disappoint with its array of Valentine’s Day activities.

    On Feb. 3 and 10, from 1-3 p.m., the Highline Heritage Museum will be hosting a workshop by poet and storyteller Merna Hecht and musician Marieke Slovin Lewis on sharing our stories through word and song.

    Admission is free and no previous experience is necessary to enjoy the workshop. Bring only a spirit of curiosity and a desire to share sorrows, joys, struggles, and hopes as each unique experience is translated to verse and song.

    Conductor Anthony Spain and the Northwest Symphony Orchestra bring “English Gardens” to the Highline Performing Arts Center on Friday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m.

    The concert program includes a vibrant set of dances celebrating the English Countryside and the World Premiere of a piece composed by Kari Medina.

    Get creative with your sweetie this Valetine’s Day with a lovely Paint & Sip night at The Heart Gallery.

    Join other painters on Valetine’s Day, Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. for a low-pressure evening of painting instruction and a glass or two of your favorite beverage.

    No previous experience is required. The cost of admission will cover everything you need to create your masterpiece.
