WALMART has rolled out a new shopping cart design – and customers have been quick to bash it.

The carts have made the shopping experience quite uncomfortable for some, leading Walmart’s carts to be ranked as the worst of all stores.

After testing its new shopping carts in Kentucky last July, Walmart is bringing them to all 4,600 US locations.

The updated carts feature a phone and cup holder – additions most shoppers appreciate.

The majority of customer complaints, however, stem from their increased size.

The handlebars on the new shopping carts are 3.5 inches taller and the child seats are 5.8 inches taller.

Shorter customers have taken particular issue with the larger carts, saying they’ve made the shopping experience more difficult.

Not only have the carts made it hard for shorter parents to see past their children while shopping, but they also left some shoppers uncomfortable.

Many Walmart shoppers have publicly aired these complaints on social media platforms like X .

“Went to Walmart, got a cart, and immediately noticed the difference,” began one customer.

“I don’t know which Walmart exec came up with the brilliant idea of raising the height of the carts, but I don’t like it.

“I’m short so now I’m stuck walking around uncomfortably. I don’t like it.”

Another X user ranked the shopping carts of US stores and Walmart was far down on the list.

They ranked Target as having the best carts, followed by Publix, Food Lion, and Kroger .

The shopper skipped all the way to number 550 on the list and ranked Walmart as having the worst shopping carts.

    CART-ASTROPHE

Walmart’s updated carts have proved problematic for two other groups of shoppers – older customers and those with disabilities .

“My shoulders ache just thinking of this. Also, it’s all I can do to get a big bag of anything out of the cart and into the trunk as it is,” wrote one elderly shopper on Facebook .

She was not a fan of the new carts and shared that if they were brought to her local Walmart, she’d bring her own cart to shop with.

    “I wish I had a better option nearby, but I don’t.”

The larger carts have naturally been more difficult for shoppers with disabilities to use as well.

“Great! Now my disability can aggravate my shoulder EVEN MORE! Thanks, Walmart!” cried a customer on Facebook.

She complained that the new cart’s design forced her to hold her arms up for an extended period to grasp the handlebars, which triggered shoulder and back pain due to her two disabilities.

Walmart shoppers have similarly bashed the retailer for a new self-checkout change .

Others have complained about the store overcharging them .
