Pick strawberries at Panola Orchard’s Strawberry Jamboree

DE BERRY, Texas ( KTAL/KMSS )— This Saturday, April 6, De Berry, Texas, will burst with fruity excitement as Panola Orchard presents its Strawberry Jamboree . The event, kicking off at 9 a.m., promises a day packed with activities.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hand-pick their own strawberries straight from the orchard.

In addition to the berry-picking extravaganza, the Strawberry Jamboree will feature a mini-festival featuring live music from “The Texians” to games, face painting, food trucks and more. The event aims to celebrate the harvest season while fostering a sense of community and appreciation for locally grown produce.

For those planning to attend, Panola Orchard advises arriving early to ensure ample time for strawberry picking and to partake in all the festivities. Keep in mind strawberries are $4.25 per pound, you must pay for what you pick and picking will end at 4:30 p.m. unless you pick out strawberries before then.

Even if you can’t make this event, Panola Orchard is a family-owned and operated farm That has plenty of fruit and other items year-round. A storefront with homemade items, such as ice cream, lemonade and jams, is open during regular operating hours and later in the year you can cut your own Christmas Tree!

“We have peaches, you can pick your own peaches and blueberries in June until mid-July, and we have just a little bit of everything,” owner Brenda Martin said.
