According to a release, this is the second year that the Nacogdoches ISD Education Foundation (NEF) has awarded classroom grants since their formation in 2022. On April 3, NEF said that seven out of nine Nacogdoches ISD campuses received at least one ‘innovative grant.’ The NEF said that teachers and faculty are able to apply for the grants to fund innovative projects in their classrooms that may not otherwise be available in the district budget.
“There’s a process in place to inform faculty about the application period, then our NEF Board of Directors get involved as well as assistance from outside the school district and foundation to judge and rank applications,” Erin Windham, NEF executive director, said. “I’m grateful for the support of our board, the support of the district and the support of our community in contributing to the foundation.”
