I-20 bridge in Van Zandt County to close for construction

VAN ZANDT COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – A bridge over I-20 in Van Zandt County will be closed through next year for construction.

Construction is set to begin on Aug. 22 on the FM 859 bridge as construction of a new bridge begins. Eastbound I-20 exit ramps for FM 859 and SH 19 will also be closed.

Eastbound I-20 traffic will need to exit at SH 64 to access the FM 859 and SH 19 south frontage roads, and detours for the FM 859 traffic will be marked.

Construction is expected to end in March 2025. Drivers are asked to slow down and avoid distractions while going through work zones.
