DPS confirms double fatality in Tyler morning crash

UPDATE: DPS said two people are dead following a two-vehicle collision on Thursday morning.

According to DPS Sergeant Adam Albritton, the wreck involved a pickup truck travelling eastbound on CR 384 and a northbound SUV on FM 2908 at around 6:28 a.m.

Albritton said the pickup truck disregarded the stop sign at the intersection and collided with the SUV. Both occupants of the pickup truck were reportedly ejected.

The driver of the SUV was hospitalized and both of the pickup truck occupants died, Albritton said. DPS has not released their identities at this time.

SMITH COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – One person is dead and others injured after a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning outside of the Tyler city limits, DPS officials said.

At around 6:50 a.m., a major crash occurred on FM 2908 and CR 384 and a Justice of the Peace was called to the scene.

According to DPS Sergeant Adam Albritton, a fatality has been confirmed and their identity has not been released at this time.
