Tuesday Night Forecast: Rain chances through Thursday, sunny & dry after

Another decent day across the area given what we tend to see at this time of year. Some of us also saw garden variety showers that didn’t amount out to very much. We have a surface area of low pressure along the Texas gulf coast that will continue to give us rain chances for tomorrow and Thursday. Deep East Texas is favored for rainfall as some areas to the SE could see over 1″ of rain (especially Sabine County). It appears Thursday will be the better chance of rain for all of East Texas. Tomorrow (Wednesday), rain chances will range from 20%-40% with the best prospect of rain in the afternoon.

Thursday night, we’ll see this area of low pressure move East which will bring us drier conditions and less cloud cover for Friday. A front will move in this weekend which will set the stage for much drier conditions and cooler nights. We could see low temperatures in the lower 60s starting Saturday night. Some of us could see some upper 50s!

We observed another day of lower 90s at Tyler (91), this is a degree shy of the historical average of 92 degrees. Historical averages are based on observed high temperatures between 1991-2020.
