    UPDATE: Smith County 16-year-old found safe

    UPDATE: He was found unharmed at the bridge at N. Spring Avenue and E. Valentine Street in Tyler.


    SMITH COUNTY, Texas ( KETK ) – Authorities are searching for a missing teenager in Smith County.

    Trash truck allegedly leaks unknown substance in Tyler neighborhood

    The 16-year-old is a white male and was last seen near CR 37 around 6 p.m. He is roughly 5’5″, 130 lbs. and has shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes.

    Smith County Emergency Service District 2 officials said the boy was wearing black jeans, black boots and a red and blue plaid over shirt.

    According to the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, he sometimes wanders off and is adept and climbing trees.

    His family reportedly called in about the missing teen at 1:30 Friday morning and authorities have been searching for him since.

    Anyone in the area who sees the teen is asked to call 911.
