KETTERING, Ohio (WDTN) — A few officers from the Kettering Police Department were sent to a neighborhood for an egg-cellent chase.

Sunday around 6:30 a.m., Kettering police officers located chickens running around Brydon Road in Kettering. While attempting to corral them, the animals ended up crossing the road and were eventually surrounded by police.

One officer was forced to stop during the chicken chase to have a quick Skittles break.

Officers eventually safely captured all of the birds.

According to the department, it is illegal to keep chickens in the city, as they are included “under zoning violations.”

In January, a Dayton police officer chased and caught a chicken that allegedly harassed a small girl on Virginia Avenue in Dayton.
