OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – On Thursday, State Rep. Justin Humphrey, R-Lane, called on Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett to resign .

The call for resignation comes as allegations of sexual molestation and public drunkenness have taken a political spotlight on Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner Hiett.

Rep. Justin Humphrey stated in his latest public release that he believe it is time for more accountability from elected officials whom represent the State of Oklahoma. Humphrey’s went on to say that he is very disappointed and disgusted by the reported actions of Oklahoma corporation Commissioner Todd Hiett, after being accused by two witnesses of groping a man while attending a conference in Minnesota earlier this summer.

According to Rep. Humphrey, Commissioner Hiett in light of the accusations admitted he has no memory of the incident and current no longer serves in the capacity of the chair position although Hiett still remains on the Corporation Commission while undergoing treatment.

“It is my understanding that additional reports of similar sorts of behavior by Commissioner Hiett are surfacing.”

Representative Humphrey continued in his latest release stating, “I have devoted my life to helping others cope and overcome addiction. Can Oklahomans merely accept Hiett’s apology for his embarrassing actions and illegal behavior? Shouldn’t our elected officials be held more accountable for illegal actions. Apologizing seems very insufficient for such an excessive severe abuse and conduct.”

Humphrey concluded saying, “I am thankful the Corporation Commission is pursuing an independent investigation into this matter and commended Commissioner Hiett in taking the first step by relinquishing his chairmanship of the commission.”

However, Rep. Humphrey remained dead set on calling on Commissioner Heitt to do what’s right and resign his office.

“If he refuses to act appropriately, I anticipate filing a resolution calling for his resignation.”

On Thursday evening, KFOR received this statement from Hiett:

“As I have stated, I have apologized for my abuse of alcohol, begun treatment, stepped aside as Chairman of this Commission, and will continue to cooperate fully with any ongoing personnel investigation being conducted by the appropriate body.”
