Science Museum Oklahoma schedules grand opening for Love’s Planetarium

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Science Museum Oklahoma is set to debut the brand new Love’s Planetarium grand ceremony on Friday, September 20.

Science Museum Oklahoma says the grand opening is set to showcase a state-of-the-art, GOTO Orpheus Star Ball and hybrid planetarium featuring 4k projectors as the result of years of planning and development. According to the museum, this technology allows audiences to see a night sky free of light pollution and journey through the universe.

“The experience of seeing a light pollution-free starry sky is something many in our city may never experience outside of a planetarium. Because Science Museum Oklahoma began as a planetarium, it feels like a very special gift to give future generations of astronomy enthusiasts.”

Public viewings in the Planetarium will begin at 2:00 p.m. on September 20, 2024.
Visitors should expect up to eight showings on Saturdays.
