    Dump drop-off: County to host bulky waste collection in Taft

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Officials with the Kern County Public Works Department are set to host a dump drop-off collection in Taft in September.

    The collection is set for Sept. 14 at the County Administration Building, which is located at 315 N Lincoln St. County officials will be accepting unwanted residential bulky waste free of charge.

    Organizers say household appliances, such as refrigerators, water heaters, mattresses, furniture, electronics and BBQ grills will be accepted. Tires without rims will also be accepted.

    Construction waste, demolition and remodeling waste, household trash, green waste, commercial waste and hazardous waste will not be accepted.

    County officials advise to tarp and secure the load before transporting.
