    UPDATE: Victim identified after incident at Speedway and Stone

    UPDATE (8/17)

    According to the Tucson Police Department, officers located a 46-year-old male with gunshot trauma and immediately began rendering aid. Despite life-saving efforts the male, Aaron Boatner, died at the scene.

    He was found east of the intersection where the another victim was found. This 57-year-old victim was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, TPD said.

    TPD also said the third victim was at his residence when the shooters left the original scene. he was transported to the hospital after being located by police.

    The investigation remains ongoing and no suspects are in custody, according to TPD.

    KGUN9 is at the scene of a large police operation in Midtown around Speedway and Stone.

    What we know is that a smoke shop has been taped off and a couple other locations in that area are inaccessible at this time. Expect traffic delays if traveling in this area.

    According to Tucson Police, around 4 AM Friday morning, officers responded to the area around Anza Park at Speedway and Stone for a reported shooting.

    According to TPD, when officers arrived they found a man dead. Two other men were taken to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries and another with non-life threatening injuries.

    Police say no one is in custody and an investigation is underway.

    KGUN9 spoke to a resident of the neighborhood, Sohail Qureshi, about the incident.

    “Almost every month something is going on here that is major that goes on in the neighborhood and it makes the neighborhood look bad," Qureshi said. "There’s nothing that we can do about it, we just need to have maybe more police force here.”
