Mountain West Football title game to air on KHON2

The Mountain West Conference has scheduled its 2024 football championship game for Friday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. Hawaii time.

The game will be broadcast on KHON-2, featuring the top two teams in the league standings based on win percentage. The team with the highest win percentage will host the game.

The University of Hawaii, which has participated in only one conference title game—a loss at Boise State in 2019—will begin its 2024 season on Aug. 24 against Delaware State at the Clarence T.C. Ching Complex.

As the newly expanded College Football Playoff takes center stage this coming season, the Mountain West has its best opportunity to compete for a spot in the field during the CFP era. The new 12-team format will have the five highest-ranked conference champions (out of the nine FBS leagues) earning an automatic bid.
