    POLICE: 17-year-old charged with murder after weekend shooting in Kilgore

    KILGORE, Texas ( KETK ) – The suspect of a weekend shooting that left one juvenile dead in Kilgore was identified and charged with murder.

    According to the Kilgore Police Department, 17-year-old Danyael Munoz, of Kilgore, shot and killed another juvenile at the corner of Thompson Street and Myrtle Street on Sunday .

    When officers arrived at the scene they found one male dead and another male who had to be airlifted to a local hospital. Munoz allegedly fled to another residence where a Northeast Texas Regional SWAT negotiator spoke to him until he turned himself in. Munoz was arrested without incident, a release said.

    “What we saw this weekend was tragic and not something any parent should ever have to experience,” Kilgore PD said.

    Munoz was booked at the Gregg County Jail and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The teenager’s bonds total $250,000.
