Annual Route 90 garage sale returns
HOMER, NY (CortacaToday) – Thousands of people hunting for a bargain or hidden treasure will make their way into Central New York this weekend. The annual Route 90 Garage Sale kicks off today, spanning 50 miles from Homer all the way to Montezuma. Plenty of vendors, bake sales, and barbecues are typically set up along the route. The official hours run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday, rain or shine, though some sales begin earlier and end later.
Newark Valley Summerfest set for Saturday
The Newark Valley Summerfest is set for this Saturday at Trout Ponds Park. The annual event will feature live music, food, a dunk tank and games, vendors and more. Vendors will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the parade set for 10 a.m., the duck race at 4:30 p.m. and a fireworks show at 9:15 p.m.

Update: Flash flood warning for Cortland County until Wednesday night
The National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning at 8:12 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until 11:15 p.m. for Cortland County. "At 8:12 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly," explains the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
