Former Tulane and Archbishop Rummel pitcher Billy Kampen died Wednesday from complications after surgery. He was 64. Kampen graduated from Rummel in 1978 and was inducted into the school’s athletic hall of fame in 2002. He was drafted in the 13th round of the 1978 MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, but passed on the pro opportunity to pitch across town at Tulane.
