Minor injuries in two-vehicle accident
KIMBALL – A car and semi collided in a construction zone on I-80 headed westbound on June 29. The two vehicles were traveling in a construction zone on I-80 between Kimball and Bushnell. A Florida resident driving the sedan was traveling in the left lane to pass a semi but came up on the barriers to merge and collided into the semi.

Gov. Pillen Applauds Reduction in Abortions, Says It’s a Tremendous Start
LINCOLN, NE – Governor Jim Pillen is applauding data from Nebraska’s 2023 Statistical Report of Abortions indicating a nearly nine percent drop from 2022. The decrease follows the 2023 passage of LB574’s Preborn Child Protection Act, banning abortions after 12 weeks of gestation, unless certain exceptions apply. It was signed into law May 22, 2023.
Missouri River flood impacts southeast Nebraska after overnight rain
Eastern Nebraska received several inches of rain Monday night and Tuesday morning, causing floods in the Lincoln and Omaha metro areas. According to the National Weather Service, 6.77 inches of rain fell in Papillion between 7 a.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday. Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue received 5.77 inches over the same time span.
