The Treasurer Ray Township is currently accepting Summer 2024 Tax Deferment Applications. To apply for your Principal Residence: to qualify, total gross house – hold income cannot exceed $40,000 for the preceding tax year and the applicant must also be 1) at least 62 years of age; or 2) totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic or quadriplegic; or 3) eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, or eligible widow or widower.

AVCB tabulator was used for the required public accuracy test for early voting and August 6, 2024 Primary Election. The commission verified and signed the public accuracy test certification. Border Patrol Stops Cross-Border Smuggling Event on St. Clair River
DETROIT - On June 25, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Marysville Border Patrol Station arrested four individuals after observing a vessel which originated in Canadian waters on the St. Clair River make landfall on to U.S. shoreline. The vessel dropped off three passengers who then got into a waiting vehicle. Collaborative efforts between U.S. and Canadian law enforcement partners resulted in the arrest of the driver of the vessel after he returned to Canada.

Police Beat: Clay Township
While on patrol on July 2, Clay Township police witnessed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Fruit Road, according to a police report. Officers confirmed that the vehicle was going over 60 mph in a posted 40 mph and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and continued onto Island Drive and then pulled into a private residence. Once parked, the driver exited the vehicle and started walking away. Officers ordered the driver back into the vehicle, but he refused. At that point, officers approached the driver and attempted to place him into custody, which he resisted at first, causing the officers to physically control him. The driver was taken into custody and transported to the Clay Township Police Department and then lodged at the St. Clair County Intervention Center. The report will be sent to the St. Clair County prosecutor for review.
