FAYETTE COUNTY , WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute between a couple ends with a girlfriend behind bars after she spat on her boyfriend, threw a glass saucer, hitting him, and the dog bitting his thigh.

On June 20th, 2024, at approximately 6:30 PM, the Fayette County 911 Center received a report of an ongoing domestic dispute in Kimberly. The caller stated that her boyfriend, Michael Wayne Proctor, had threatened her with a knife. Deputy Sheriff C.D. Cogar responded to the scene.

Around 7:20 PM, Deputy Cogar and Deputy T. Farley spotted the male subject from the initial call walking down the road. Deputy Farley detained Mr. Proctor and transported him back to the residence to investigate further.

Upon arrival, Deputy Cogar spoke with the female resident, who said she had been drinking earlier. She explained that when she returned home, Mr. Proctor confronted her, and her dog bit him on the left thigh, causing him to leave the area.

Mr. Proctor provided a different account, stating that his girlfriend, Roberta Bickford, had come home intoxicated. They got into a verbal argument, and Ms. Bickford then spat on him and threw a glass saucer, hitting him on the right elbow and causing swelling and bruising.

Ms. Bickford allegedly threatened that her dog would attack Mr. Proctor if he tried anything. Mr. Proctor said he disregarded the dog’s threat, but it ended up biting him on the left thigh, causing minor bleeding. Mr. Proctor then left the residence and flagged down the deputies he had seen.

Bickford was charged with domestic battery.
