Update: Montgomery and Philadelphia counties under a flash flood warning early Wednesday evening
The National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning at 1:18 p.m. on Wednesday in effect until 4:15 p.m. for Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. "At 1:18 p.m., local law enforcement reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring on Route 38 in Cherry Hill Township, New Jersey, and on the Schuylkill Expressway near the Manayunk exit in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania," says the weather service. "Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas."
