59 Current Illinois Red Flag Advisories Say No Swimming or Else
Don't go in the water. That's the advisory that many Illinois water places currently have with many being issued after recent water tests around the state. The Illinois Department of Public Health has a Beach Guard System that is almost constantly updated with alerts about high bacteria levels being detected. Here are the most recent advisories with the name of the beach and/or lake, the Illinois county it's located in plus the date and time of the most recent water tests:

Local pools urge safety as holiday weekend approaches
SPRINGFIELD, ILL (WICS/WRSP) — With the holiday weekend almost here, some local pools are reminding families to make sure kids are safe in and around swimming pools. State officials say 15 children in Illinois drowned in 2022 in pools and lakes and seven of them were under the age of 5.
Boys & Girls Clubs to dedicate new location and honor Andre Iguodala

On July 9, Iguodala will be honored for his recent induction into the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Hall of Fame. The event will also serve as the dedication for the BGCCIL administrative building at 430 W. Jefferson St.

(WICS) — Catchers are, of course, asked to know the basic catch, throw, and block that comes with the position, but one of the most important aspects of being a catcher is the mental side. Not only do they have to do a lot of the thinking defensively, but they also need to understand how each pitcher likes to operate. Lucky Horseshoes catchers Charlie Marisca and Cooper Cohn both talked about the importance of knowing the sign system that their pitchers like as well as their temperament, things like whether they will respond better to being fired up or calmed down.
United Community Bank Cup – Central State Eight
The United Community Bank Cup is awarded to a pair of schools in the Springfield area that displayed the highest level of overall excellence in all sports throughout the school year. The awards are given based on the United Community Bank Cup points system. Winning schools receive a trophy and $1,000 to that school’s athletic program. McGreevy headed back to PGA Tour, and to fatherhood
Max McGreevy believes he belongs on the PGA TOUR. He has earned another chance to prove it. McGreevy, 29, earned his second Korn Ferry Tour title Sunday at the Memorial Health Championship presented by LRS, and he did so dramatically with a 13-foot winning birdie on the 72nd hole at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois. McGreevy finished at 24-under 260, one stroke clear of a hard-charging Steven Fisk, who joined McGreevy in clinching a PGA TOUR card on Sunday.
