KING — West Stokes’ Haley Yates plays softball for the Wildcats and is looking forward to her senior year and being a leader on the field, in the dugout, and where this year will lead the team.

Yates helped the Wildcats to a Co-Mid-State Conference Championship and conference tournament championship this past spring. She was All-County, All-Conference, All-Tournament and All-District during her junior campaign. She plays travel softball for Carolina Cardinals Yates 18U.

Haley loves growing up next to her grandparents and the fact that she can see them anytime. Her family motivates her to play the game she loves because of their support and knowing that they all want to see her succeed.

She is a member of the National Honor Society, Club Unify, Future Farmers of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was a Junior Marshall.

Yates verbally committed to play softball at Averett University and will plan to major in nursing with a goal of becoming a pediatric nurse.
