Bulldog Softball shutouts Sioux Center to wrap up non-conference slate
The Le Mars Community softball team ended their non-conference regular season schedule with a 2-0 win at Sioux Center on Tuesday night. The Bulldogs looked like they would score a boatload of runs right away getting the bases loaded with nobody out to start the game. A strikeout and two groundouts later, and the Bulldogs were left with nothing to show for their efforts. Le Mars head coach Brooke Berkenpas says she reminded the girls that things would work out in the end.
Hinton Softball starts regular season homestretch with win over MVAOCOU
The Hinton softball team started their final week of regular season action with a 3-1 home win against MVAOCOU on Monday night. It was a crisp and windy night making for a much different brand of softball than Hinton is used to playing. Hinton has been known for its power boasting one of the best home run-hitting rosters in the area. With a nearly 20 mile-per-hour wind blowing in, that type of softball was not going to work. Hinton head coach Jennifer Jacobs-List says the girls adapted to the small ball change as the game went along.
