Traffic Alert: Fun Fest parade road closures

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — The City of Kingsport announced on Thursday that several streets downtown will be temporarily closed on Friday for the Fun Fest parade.

The parade will begin on Clinchfield Street (adjacent to the Kingsport Center for Higher Education), continue to Center Street, then to Sullivan Street and back to Clinchfield Street, the city said in a news release.

Clinchfield from Market Street to Clay Street will be closed by 10 a.m. Friday for the parade lineup.

Side streets leading into Center Street between Clinchfield and Sullivan will be closed at 4 p.m. Friday. Center and Clinchfield Streets will be closed 30 minutes before the parade starts at 6 p.m.

Detour signs will be in place and all closures will be lifted when the parade ends, according to the city.
