    Kinston man charged with larceny, breaking and entering in theft of copper, metals

    KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — A man was arrested after being identified on surveillance cameras and is charged with larceny among other crimes.

    Austin Ray Newcome, 26, was identified by law enforcement as a suspect in the theft of copper and other metals from a home on Ben Dail Road Sunday. Law enforcement officers also said Newcome used a vehicle to remove the metal.

    Newcome was charged with:

    • Felony larceny
    • Felony breaking and entering a motor vehicle
    • Felony attempted breaking and entering a building
    • Misdemeanor unauthorized use of a motor vehicle

    ·Newcome was jailed in the Lenoir County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
