    Five people arrested in Kinston for drug trafficking

    KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office arrested five people on Tuesday on numerous charges.

    The Sheriff’s Office received a narcotic complaint on Tuesday that led Sheriff Jackie Roger, deputies, the Street Crime Unit and Rapid Response Team to investigate along NC 58 South in Kinston. Five suspects were found and two of them had outstanding warrants in Lenoir, Wilson and Onslow Counties.

    Deputies found and seized trafficking amounts of opium and heroin along with LSD, cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a stolen gun.

    Forty-one year old Melvin Greene Jr. from Deep Run was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Firearm, Possession of Stolen Firearm by Felon, Felony Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances and Possession with the Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substances. He also had an outstanding warrant for arrested from Lenoir County for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Methamphetamine. Greene received a $4,000 secured bond.

    Thirty-eight year old Holly Hill Jett from Kinston was arrested and charged with Felony Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance, Trafficking opium/heroin, Felony Possession of LSD, Felony Possession of cocaine, Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Jett was given a $75,000 secured bond.

    Thirty-seven year old Kelly Jo Martin from Kinston was arrested and charged with Possession of Stolen Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Felony Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substance. Martin was given a $60,000 secured bond.

    Thirty-three year old Ariel Marie Rodriguez from Kinston was arrested and charged with Possesion of Stolen Firearm, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Felony Maintaing Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance and Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule VI Controlled Substance. Rodriguez also had two outstanding arrest warrants from Onslow County and from Wilson County for Driving While License Revoked. She was given a secured bond of $66,000.

    Thirty-one year old Morgan Lynn Williams from Kinston was arrested and charged with Felony Maintaining Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substance, Trafficking opium/heroin, Felony Possession of LSD, Felony Possession of cocaine, Possession with Intent to Manufacture/Sell/Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance and Resisting a Public Officer. Williams was placed under a 48 hour hold until first appearance.

    All five suspects were taken to the Lenoir County Detention Center.
