Premiere Dance Academy claims two national titles
A local dance academy is celebrating a pair of successes at competitions this summer. Premiere Dance Academy, located at 135 1st street in Hollister, captured the Edge Cup Award during the National Edge Talent Competition, hosted in Branson on Friday, July 12. The outfit won the award for the highest scoring 12 and under routine, with their performance of “The Clubhouse.” The competition showcased talent from dance studios across numerous states. In June, the academy competed at the Spotlight Dance Cup Nationals and won the National Spotlight Production Championship title.
SMAC Art Center to host Festive Exhibit
Hollister, MO—The Southern Missouri Arts Connection (SMAC) will present the work of local artist and College of the Ozarks graduate Valerie Clark in a solo exhibit, Searching for Conviviality, at the SMAC Art Center on historic Downing Street in Hollister. The exhibit will run from August 2-31. An opening night reception for the show will be held Friday, August 2, 6-9 p.m., in conjunction with State of the Ozarks (SOTO) First Friday Art Walk. Both the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.
