Teen reporters share guide to best NYS Fair games on the Midway
To save teens time and money, Owen Johnson and Mallory Offredi of Baldwinsville set out to find the best of all the games at the New York State Fair. This syracuse.com guide was written specially by teens, for teens, in collaboration with Baker News reporters from C.W. Baker High School in Baldwinsville. Day 9 of the 2024 Great New York State Fair with CNY Central
GEDDES, N.Y. — Thursday is Armed Forces Day and Dairy Day at the Great New York State Fair. Active duty or veteran members of the military are admitted free on Thursday. A ceremony will take place at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Horticulture Building at 11 a.m. and the Armed Forces Parade steps off from the back of the Exposition Center at 6 p.m.

Welcome to our daily New York State Fair concert guide! We’ll be publishing a list of music performers and showtimes every day of the 2024 NYS Fair on syracuse.com. There are two main stages: Suburban Park and Chevy Court. Suburban Park will host the Fair’s largest concerts in the New York Experience area on the west end near Gate 10, in the back of the Midway and past the Expo Center. Chevy Court is located near Gate 1, next to the Center of Progress Building and by the Dairy Products Building. Both have limited seating available.

Kathy Hochul expressed support for a mask ban on subways and at protests while other politicians in New York City, Los Angeles and North Carolina are considering or have already passed laws that ban masks in public spaces. Disability, civil liberties and other activists have raised alarm regarding how mask bans, even with formal exemptions for health and religious reasons, offer no guarantee of fair enforcement and can stigmatize masking in general during an ongoing pandemic. This said, I argue that we should oppose mask bans due to two vital functions.
