44-year-old man dies in 2-vehicle collision in Madison County
Brookfield, N.Y. — A 44-year-old man died in a 2-car head-on collision in Madison County, troopers said. Dominick E. Brown, of New Berlin, died after his pickup collided with another car at 3:48 p.m. Tuesday on Route 8 in Brookfield, according to Trooper Jennifer Jiron, a spokesperson for the State Police.
Fatal 2-Car Crash in Brookfield on Rt. 8
BROOKFIELD, N.Y. -- New York State Police are investigating a fatal two-car accident that occurred Tuesday just before 4 p.m. on State Route 8 in Brookfield. Officials stated that 44-year-old Dominick Brown, of New Berlin, was traveling southbound on Rt. 8 when he crossed the double-yellow line into the opposite lane, colliding with a car driven by 63-year-old Nancy Simon, of Leonardsville.
Several Deadly Viruses Detected in Central New York Mosquitoes
More deadly viruses are making their way into Central New York. And mosquitoes are to blame. Traps from Mosquito pools in Onondaga County show the presence of several viruses. The West Nile and Flanders viruses were detected in the Town of Cicero. Both viruses along with the Eastern Equine Encephalitis and Highlands J viruses were found in East Syracuse. That's in addition to the Flanders and Jamestown Canyon viruses discovered on July 16.

UTICA — A 31-year-old man is accused of stealing someone’s property and then attempting to steal another person’s vehicle on Court Street, according to the Utica Police Department.
