'This is the place to be': Californians flock to Lake Tahoe for Fourth of July to escape heat wave
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — People packed South Lake Tahoe for the Fourth of July, with many wanting to avoid theextreme heat hitting other areas of California. Triple-digit temperatures continue to impact parts of the state, including Sacramento. That is why Sacramento resident Sharon Silvas came to South Lake Tahoe with her grandchildren to celebrate Independence Day.
Election of three Lake Tahoe Unified School District Trustee Seats announced
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Board approved the election for three open seats on the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Board of Education during the June 27 meeting. The seats are currently held by Bonnie Turnbull (Area 3), Valerie Mansfield (Area 4), and Larry Reilly (Area 1). The election will be held on November 5, 2024.
