Kommuna Lux music group to perform July 30
Kommuna Lux, a Ukrainian music group, will perform in Cleveland on July 30 at the Beachland Ballroom located at 15711 Waterloo Road in Cleveland. Kommuna Lux features Vova Gitin, a Jewish clarinetist, and its repertoire includes songs that tell the story of Odesa, a historic city that was recently attacked. For its concerts, Kommuna Lux has partnered with the Rotary Club in Kyiv as part of its Hospital Beds for Kramatorsk project. A portion of the donations collected at shows will fund new beds for victims of severe burns at several Ukrainian hospitals. The rest of the funds will go towards medicine and protective equipment for organizations across Ukraine.

Motorcyclist dies in crash in Lake County
PERRY VILLAGE, Ohio — One man is dead after his motorcycle reportedly veered of a Lake County road Saturday night and alcohol is a suspected factor. The State Highway Patrol tells WKYC Channel 3 the crash occurred at about 10:42 p.m. on Narrows Road near an intersection with Ohio 84. The 1984 Honda Goldwing was traveling south on Narrows Road when it went off the side and flipped, ejecting the driver.
Lake Shore Garden Club to hold biennial flower show
The Lake Shore Garden Club has announced it will be holding its biennial ‘A Gardener’s Day Out’ National Garden Club Small Standard Flower Show starting Aug 2. The flower show, which will be held at The Albert W. Northeast Ohio gets federal funding to go big on solar power expansion
New solar power projects are soon to come to Northeast Ohio following the awarding of a more than $129 million federal grant for renewable energy. The funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection agency is the largest grant awarded to Cuyahoga County since it adopted the charter form of government in 2011, Cuyghoga Green Energy Administrator Mike Foley said. The funds will be used to remediate brownfields and transform them into solar energy hubs.
