Warwick revamps short-term rental code
The Town of Warwick approved a new local law amending its short-term rental code at its July 11 meeting. Key changes to the law include requiring all owners, including multiple owners operating as an LLC, to provide identifying information to the town, allowing for suspensions for violations that may not merit registration revocation and for penalties to be set by resolution so they can be more easily changed by the town board.

Former Construction & Demolition Debris Dumping Ground Off-Gassing Methane: Developer Working On Getting DEC Approvals To Move Forward on Cleanup and Capping. What is not in dispute is that the Village of West Haverstraw has a methane off-gassing, 34-acre, uncapped construction and demolition debris landfill sitting along Ecology Lane and Beach Road, that was never properly closed. Instead, the grassy hill is covered with two feet of topsoil and overgrown vegetation, and slated to become the site of a massive 24/7 warehouse, if the developer’s application is approved.
Munger Cottage: Air Conditioning & Programming Notice
As you may be aware, the HVAC system at Munger Cottage is no longer working and is beyond repair. Our Building Department has been keeping the current system running, making repairs and adding refrigerant as needed over the years, but it has now reached the end of its useful life. The Town Board authorized the complete replacement of the HVAC system at Munger Cottage last Tuesday, July 9th and hired a local company to handle the work. The parts for the new system have been ordered and will be installed as soon as they arrive.
