Osceola Sheriff’s Office IDs 1 of men killed in shootout near Kissimmee

One of two men killed in a shootout early Tuesday at an apartment complex near Kissimmee has been identified by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said in a press release Wednesday that 21-year-old Adrian Joel Gonzalez was one of the men killed.

Three men were found with gunshot wounds when deputies responded to reports of gunfire just after midnight at the Rapallo apartment complex on Marta Circle near The Loop shopping center, according to the agency.

The Sheriff’s Office said Gonzalez was transported to a hospital where he died of his injuries, while a second man died at the scene but has not been identified. The third man also was transported to the hospital but his condition remains unknown, according to the  agency.

Sheriff Marcos Lopez said Tuesday that a person of interest was in custody. He said the incident was random and likely started over drugs.

The investigation is ongoing.
