Klamath Falls Police arrest suspect after homicide on North Hills Drive
On June 29th, 2024, at approximately 7:59 a.m., patrol officers from the Klamath Falls Police Department (KFPD) responded to a report of a menacing at 5513 North Hills Drive in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The initial report was a man hiding inside the residence, and the man had pointed a firearm at the victim of the menacing when confronted. The officers also learned there were two additional people inside the residence with the suspect.

Pickup Truck Stolen in Burglary Spotted on Neighbor’s Property, Suspects Flee
On Sunday June 23, 2024, Klamath County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call from a resident on Steelhead Lane in East Klamath County who discovered her property had been burglarized the prior day. One of the stolen items was the victim’s Nissan pickup truck. While deputies were responding to the scene the victim reported her stolen pickup had been spotted on a neighboring property. When deputies approached the scene of a second burglary on foot, they interrupted the crime in progress. Two males fled the property in the stolen Nissan. As the deputies began a search for the fleeing pickup, a caller contacted 911 Emergency Dispatch and advised that they had one suspect detained at gunpoint at the intersection of Canadian Honker Lane and Sprague River Drive.
GOVERNOR TINA KOTEK INVOKES THE EMERGENCY CONFLAGRATION ACT FOR DARLENE 3 FIRE
Oregon Governor Tina Kotek has invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act for the Darlene 3 Fire burning near La Pine in Deschutes County. The fire sparked around 2 p.m. Tuesday, one mile south of La Pine on the east side of Darlene Way. The fire is estimated to be 250 acres in size. The Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office has levels 3 and 2 evacuations in place near the fire. The Oregon State Fire Marshal Red Incident Management Team has been activated along with two structural task forces from Linn and Marion counties. The OSFM is mobilizing four additional task forces who will arrive in the morning.

Harriman fire 6/24 – final update
Klamath Falls, Ore, – This will be the final update on the Harriman Fire. The Harriman Fire is now 50% contained, remaining at an estimated 10-15 acres, with multiple resources on scene from the U.S. Forest Service, Oregon Department of Forestry, Bureau of Land Management, Rocky Point Fire and EMS, and private contractors. Crews will focus on securing control lines and mopup throughout the day. Additionally, infrared detection flights will be conducted by Uncrewed Aircraft System (UAS) operators to ensure all remaining sources of heat are identified.

Klamath Falls, Ore, – The Harriman Fire is currently burning on Fremont-Winema National Forest land west of Rocky point, near the Fourmile Flat quarry. The fire was reported June 22 at 12:45 p.m. and is estimated to be 10-15 acres in size. It is currently lined with a combination of dozers and handline. Klamath County resident killed in single-vehicle crash on Hwy 58
Lane County, Ore. – On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 3:08 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 58, near milepost 46, in Lane County. The preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Ford F-350, operated by Will Ed Bryson Jr. (77) of Klamath Falls, left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a tree.
