HIGHLIGHTS: The Menard Yellowjackets fall in the Bi-District round to Garden City

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The Menard Yellowjackets took the trip to Lake View High School to take on the Garden City Bearkats in the 1A Bi-District round.

In the second half, the Yellowjackets were trailing, but Jayden Payton would close it to a 10-point game with a step-back three-pointer, swishing right in.

Payton controlled the ball a lot for Menard, hitting a pass back to the top of the key. Jaegar Leonard was ready for the shot, sinking a three-pointer, cutting the deficit to five.

Rebounds would hurt the Yellowjackets in this one, but not in a couple of plays off a Yellowjacket missed shot, with multiple bodies scrambling for it. The Bearkats would come up with it, but not for long. Kade Rayburn would kick things into high key, jumping in front of the pass for the steal and passing it off to Wyatt Terrell, who would find the layup pocket.

Not long later, Logan Powell, on the right side, looking for help, launches one across the floor back over to Rayburn, who was set for another three-point shot, falling right in the back of the net, causing Garden City to call a timeout.

Menard falls in the Bi-District round, 59-41 against the Garden City Bearkats after an impressive season.
