Celebration of Life, vigil to be held for Maynard family

TROY, Texas ( FOX 44 ) – The Troy community will come together to remember and honor the Maynard family.

A Celebration of Life and Candle Vigil will be held in memory of David, Mary, Colton and Brantley Maynard. The Celebration of Life event will take place from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Troy First Assembly of God, located at 722 W Main Street. The Troy Baseball Association will then host the Candle Vigil at the baseball field at 8:15 p.m., in honor of baseball players Colton and Brantley.

This comes after the Alaska Dive Search Rescue and Recovery Team announced on Tuesday that search efforts for the Maynard family ended. If something is found or possibly found in the future, the Team says it will respond to assess what is found if requested by the state’s Department of Public Safety.

The U.S. Coast Guard confirmed earlier this month that the Maynard family went missing when a small boat they were on capsized in the waters off Alaska.
