HARRIS COUNTY, Texas (KIAH) – A man from the Dallas-Fort Worth area has been sentenced to life in prison for child sexual abuse. Buck Oddason McCoy was charged with molesting six young girls, between the ages of 10 and 12, in different areas across Texas.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office began their investigation in 2012, when McCoy, 42, would include himself into different families across the state. He would try to gain the parents’ trust and later sexually abuse their kids while taking care of them.

According to records, McCoy’s address was listed in Alvarado. However, investigators found out he had been living in the Houston area since 2016. He was finally arrested in 2022 after Harris County Sheriff Deputies received reports from his victims.

After a four-day trial, McCoy was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child. The jury sentenced him to life without the chance of parole.
