ADACCV, Concho Valley CARES Coalition to hold pickleball tournament

SAN ANGELO, Texas ( Concho Valley Homepage ) — Grab your paddles, pickleball fans — the Alcohol & Drug Awareness Center for the Concho Valley and the Concho Valley CARES Coalition are hosting a free pickleball tournament on Saturday, Aug. 31, and you’re invited.

The tournament is scheduled to start at the YMCA located at 353 S. Randolph St. at 9 a.m., with the competition continuing until the champions are crowned. The event will have a novice/intermediate bracket and an advanced bracket for challengers to take part in.

“Whether you’re new to the game or a seasoned player, there’s a spot for you in this action-packed tournament,” the ADACCV said.

The winners of each bracket will be awarded “top-of-the-line” pickleball paddles from Selkirk Sport, a pickleball equipment company. Though listings vary on the Selkirk Sport online paddle catalog , many of the company’s paddles have prices ranging from $70 to $250.

Attendees who complete a survey during the event will entered into a raffle for more pickleball-related items.

To register for the event, visit adaccv.org and print off the registration form. Once filled out, email the form to gilbertm@adaccv.org. Prospective competitors can also pick up a form at 3553 W. Houston Harte Expressway.
