The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to a pair of wrecks Sunday in Johnson County.

Three people were taken to area hospitals following a two-vehicle collision in Warrensburg.  The Patrol reports at around 2:30 p.m., 18-year-old Peyton Anderson of Grain Valley lost control of his vehicle as he was driving west on Route 50 near the junction with Business Route 13. Anderson’s vehicle then struck a vehicle driven by 59-year-old James Lyle of Independence, causing both vehicles to go off the right side of the highway and strike a ditch. Anderson suffered moderate injuries, while Lyle experienced minor injuries. The two were treated at a nearby hospital. A passenger in Lyle’s car, 62-year-old Kelly Lyle of Independence, sustained moderate injuries and was taken to another hospital.

Troopers then responded to a one-vehicle accident south of Holden that injured an Odessa man.  The Patrol says that 40-year-old Matthew Williams was driving north on Route 131 just before 11 p.m., when just north of the intersection with Southwest 1301st Road, his pickup went off the left side of the roadway and overturned. Williams was treated for moderate injuries at a Warrensburg hospital. Troopers say that he was not wearing his seat belt.
