Sold-out luncheon shows efforts to further Hamilton County improvements
A capacity crowd of 500 people attended the 35th annual Hamilton County State of the County luncheon June 26 at Embassy Suites in Noblesville. The event’s theme was “The Way We’re Going,” referencing the county’s future. Hamilton County Commissioner Steve Dillinger was the keynote speaker.
Numbers boost Fishers unified track team
For the Fishers High School’s Unified Sports track and field team, there was definitely strength in numbers. “At 98 students, this was our largest team we’ve ever had, with a 50/50 mix of returning students and new students,” Tigers coach Patrick Schooley said. “What made it special was that there were valuable contributions from all ability levels in every event and from veterans and rookies. The senior leadership was especially strong with this team. The students train hard and they set very lofty goals for themselves.”

Recovering history: Bell Ford Bridge installation at Geist Park planned for late summer/early fall
More than 150 years ago, the Bell Ford Bridge allowed Hoosiers to cross the White River in the southern Indiana town of Seymour. It served its purpose for about 100 years before it was deemed unsafe. A storm later destroyed half the dilapidated structure. The other half fell into the river in 2006.

Silver Alert issued for 3 missing Indianapolis juveniles
INDIANAPOLIS — A Silver Alert has been issued for three missing Indianapolis juveniles. According to a release from Indiana State Police, 4-year-old Frankie Terrell, 3-year-old Queen Terrell and 1-year-old King Terrell were last seen on July 4 at 12:36 p.m. Frankie, Queen and King are believed to have been with their biological parents at the time of their disappearance.
